Senior Presidential Advisor on Communications

Camilo Granada Barrera

Born in Bogotá in 1965, he is an economist and political scientist with a Master's Degree on Economics from the University of Montpellier, and graduated from the Ecole Nationale d'Administration (ENA) in France.

Mr. Granada was the Director of FTI Consulting, company founded as Gravitas, where he advised companies, governments and organizations, as well as political campaigns in the region, particularly in Venezuela, Colombia and Panamá.

In the public sector, during the administration of President César Gaviria (1990-1994), he served as Presidential Advisor for National Defense and Security, as Chief of Staff for the Minister of Foreign Affairs, and as Head of the Justice and Security Unit of the National Planning Department (Departamento Nacional de Planeación).

He served as Editor of Coyuntura Social and as economic researcher at Fedesarrollo, worked for the World Bank as research project coordinator for Latin America, and at the Organization of American States (OAS) as Political Advisor to the Secretary General. 

Likewise, Mr. Granada has been an op-ed columnist for several printed media, among them Semana magazine, and guest panelist at several TV opinion programs.
