Jaime Bueno Miranda

Jaime Bueno Miranda was born in Pasto. He studied his primary and secondary education at the Colegio San Bartolomé - La Merced, in Bogotá.

He is an economist from the Universidad Javeriana in Bogotá and earned a Master's Degree in Economics from Syracuse University (New York), and in Public Finance from Harvard University (ITP Law School). He also took courses on Managerial Leadership at KPMG Management in Bürgenstock and Montreux, Switzerland, and on Negotiation at Harvard University.

His professional experience began at the Department of Economic Analysis of the Banking Association (Asociación Bancaria) of Colombia. Mr. Bueno was deputy chief of the Economic Advisory Office of the Minister of Finance, which he eventually headed. Later, he was appointed as Director General of National Revenue, and upon concluding his specialization studies at Harvard University, he joined the Deloitte consulting firm, where he served as president for several years.

He later became the president of the KPMG consulting firm, where he served for 23 years. Over the past six years, he has been an external advisor of that organization and has led the ACI Global Initiative Advisory Board for Colombia.

Mr. Bueno has also served at several organizations in the public and private sectors, such as the Private Competitiveness Council (Consejo Privado de Competitividad -CPC), the National Business Owners Association of Colombia (Asociación Nacional de Empresarios de Colombia - ANDI), the Colombian Institute of Administration (Instituto Colombiano de Administración - INCOLDA), the North American Business Council, the Colombo-American Chamber of Commerce, the Chamber of Commerce of Bogota, the Forum of Presidents of the Chamber of Commerce of Bogota, and the Investor Mentors Program (Programa de Mentores Inversionistas) of the same entity.

Mr. Bueno was professor of Macroeconomics and Public Finance at the School of Economics of the Universidad de los Andes and the Universidad Javeriana in Bogotá, and taught Economics at the School of Law at the Universidad Javeriana. He has also been linked to the ConsultAndes Program at the School of Management at the Universidad de los Andes.

Likewise, Mr. Bueno was co-editor of the books ‘La Estructura Fiscal Colombiana’ (Colombian Fiscal Structure) and ‘Juntas Directivas de Alto Valor: Guía Práctica’ (High Value Boards of Directors: Practical Guide). For several years, he wrote op-ed columns at El Tiempo newspaper.
